This weekend I wandered paths full of sunflowers, and perhaps dressed in matching colors so I would coordinate well with the floral scenery. Have you tried the collage effects in PicMonkey? I am loving it. Thanks, PicMonkey. I finally stopped crying over Picnik closing thanks to you. Using PicMonkey plus instagram is a girl’s geeky camera dream come true. What about you, dear reader? a homemade necklace and so thrifty I must brag

Yesterday I mentioned I received some fun little handmade fabric yoyos from lovely Rachel of Joyful Treasure Hunting, and now I can show you what I made with them! This is the first necklace of its kind I have ever made, and I have some learning to do. I did try to make a floral rosette necklace recently, disastrous…. but I rather like this one in some of my favorite summer colors! I want to make more! Any suggestions for color schemes?
I would also like to brag on the thrifting skills I used to score both the skirt and the shoes in this post- new with tags at thrift stores. (pats self on back since you aren’t with me)

I’ve got sunshine on a sunny day (See? It’s extra sunshine)

Yea! It’s Everybody Everywear day and guess what? We are ALL lemondrops! So exciting! One of my favorite colors, obviously, and now all of my friends have it on too. What a perfect time of year to go all lemony yellow, girls.

The other highlight of my week was receiving my engraved James Avery locket in the mail. Avery is my all time fave jewelry designer, a Texas original I’ve been collecting since the 6th grade. Mr. Lemondrop gave me a gift certificate for Christmas and I finally used it to get the LLD’s initials. I love the old fashioned locket style. I am such a closet old lady. Well, a closet old lady with tattoos and a toe ring.
