Someitmes simple is best. I was in a hurry to get dressed this morning and wanted something easy and breezy, but layered for the a/c blasts I expected (welcomed). Why don’t I have ten of these little JCrew dresses and summer blazers? Oh yea, it’s that closet clean out I’ve been droning on about daily… Well, I am glad these pieces made the cut. Have any fave simple items that make your day?

Getting comfortable with red, my lrd

One of my closest friends in the world adores red. She wears it, decorates with it, has red purses… and I almost never have any in my life. I always smile to see her love it…but I shy away from a red purchase almost every time. So this dress is great practice for me to wear it for July 4th, or any other time because it is so comfortable I can forget what attention seeking color I am wearing. Attention from gaudy necklaces and large handbags I am totally used to.

Sundresses are now a staple.

The heat really rolled in this week. My grandparents warned me (they watch the news religiously), but I didn’t pay any attention. It already felt like summer after all…but I was mistaken. Texas summer is really here this week. That means the Little Lemondrop and I try to complete all of our outside activities before 11 am or after 7 pm. Maybe I will get more housecleaning done, or muffin making… Right now I am just sitting here chatting with you. Don’t tell Mr. Lemondrop, there is a pile of his laundry waiting for me just down the hall.
