Matching is overrated, right?

Perhaps those little Garanimals outfits with their easy mix and match design overly influenced my idea of when I can mix and match things … perhaps I am too type A. Whatever the reason I was quite behind at pattern mixing until the blogosphere convinced me that going a little mixing crazy is fun. I like this skirt, I like this sweater- I think that I will wear them…together!  And while the rest of my immediate real time world isn’t as pattern hip as you probably are, I am going to ignore them and keep my mixing fun in the mix. Who knows what pattern collaborations are in my future? Oh the colors that await! Are you a mix master or a recovering Garanimals pattern follower?

Brightly we go… and go, and a little TMI

I was beyond busy yesterday so this was the perfect run around outfit. When I say busy I mean  working mom of an infant busy (with a husband who forgot the breastmilk in the fridge at home on the way to the sitter). In this comfy dress I was able to breastfeed, pump when I couldn’t, and still check my email using my Snugg ipad case!  To heck with jeans for comfort for me, give me loud patterns and a loose fit and I am set for anything.  Hope you didn’t forget something important in the fridge today, friends, it is a huge headache.

I can’t live without my ipad. I took it to the hospital with me when I had my second child and used it for everything, including charting feeding, diaper changes, and reading ebooks in the middle of the night.  I so wish I had the Snugg ipad case then! It makes propping an ipad up both stylish and easy, and the hand grip when you are reading a book at a 2:00 AM feeding is essential! I love all of the colors available, but I went for a cheery orange that I can spot in a big bag of kids toys and diapers. Thank you, Snugg for making my busy days much easier! I received the Sungg case for review, my opinions reflect experience with a great product!

Color blocking or random use of bright colors together, who decides?

I’m all for the color blocking trend, but frankly since plaid is my favorite color I am just not that good at it. I adore wearing orange in the fall. So when I pulled out this vintage orange dress I thought I’d add a shot of bright. In the form of purple… and velvet. I like to skirt the “tacky during daylight” line sometimes.
How about you? How colorblocked are your pieces this year? Or are you ready to move on to less crayon box coordination?
