a drab flower day, I am so difficult

So it’s summer, and florals abound. But my favorite colors are autumnal, and I guess I was channeling fall when I grabbed these pieces from my closet for a day of errands. 4/5 of this outfit has a flower on it- even the cargos have small floral details, but nary a pastel to be found until my purse joined in. Why can’t I embrace pastels in honor of the season? I am so difficult. Or perhaps I should get back to some closet organization to help me focus. Maybe tomorrow…

Army flowers, and that makes two!

I knew I would fall behind the other 30 x 30 challenge participants, and yep, here I am at two when most of those organized ladies are at 4. But it’s summer, and isn’t that a great time to slow down? I had to include this little army green jacket in the 30 pieces- I consider it my go to throw on for several seasons. It’s a nice light weight for when the air conditioning is blastin’. I couldn’t wear it outside for long in our Texas heat, except first thing in the morning! Yet another thing I miss about fall, the ability to layer clothing easily! Are you still able to layer in your summer?

Do you remember the Series of Unfortunate Events books? They are hysterical- I read all of them a few years back. Yes, I am that nerdy. You hadn’t spotted that? You must be new here.

Anywho, one of my fave characters was Carmilta Spats. She was mean and nasty, and quite ambitious. She told everyone that she was a tap-dancing ballerina fairy princess veterinarian. That’s what I feel like in this outfit. The dress is tutu-ish and the jacket is bordering on military, it’s so mixed up I could be a tap-dancing ballerina fairy princess veterinarian if I wanted. No?
