Really, I am not selling ice cream, I just like white.

Sometimes when I wear a lot of white I feel as if someone expects me to have a truck full of cold summer treats waiting at the curb. But this month’s EBEW monochromatic theme is here, and I do really love my little white vintage dress. I’ve worn it a lot over the years, but its so well made that it can take lots of wear, cleaning, and more wear. While getting dressed I realized that I have very few pairs of white shoes in my closet! And the ones I do have were flats… something I avoid wearing when I can. YAY! An item I can add to my shopping list with little to no guilt, more white heels. Or wedges.

What’s your color of the week my friends?

Sweet 14th, ringing in the red (and pink) EBEW

I don’t think I am a Valentine’s kind of girl. It’s not that I dislike it… but it’s not a top priority for me to dress up in celebration. Though I do like the flowers and layering romantic items in the house. Now St. Pat’s Day? I dress for that. Thank goodness for EBEW forcing us out of our staid comfort zones once again, right?
This month it was pink and red, two colors I don’t wear often and now we are mixing them? I didn’t stress… I just went for vintage. And a little bling of course! What girl doesn’t want s some sparkle on her wrist on the day about love? Are you decked in hearts and flowers today?

as simple as black and white, ebew

The expression “in black and white” means that something should be obvious, easy, simple to understand. Maybe that’s why it’s an outfit staple for a busy lady. But since I had to wear that color combination at my first hostess job in a restaurant I am occasionally reluctant to don it …but today EBEW is celebrating some fave black and white closet finds. Mine has to be this vintage dress and jacket with the rick rackety trim. It was one of my first vintage purchases years ago.  I remember finding it stuffed between newer items in a thrift store and thinking I would never wear such a white dress- I am a fan of coffee, chocolate, and small children most days. But I actually have worn this quite a few times, and hope to again… except to weddings.
Do you do black and white? Or do you leave that to the waitstaff at your favorite restaurant?
