Pop goes the red, and a giveaway preview

Confession: I was cold this morning in this outfit, but I will be hot by afternoon. It’s Texas, ya’ll. Still, I am cheerful about the weather because I can have bare (freakishly white)legs and I have a fun new bracelet to show off. It’s a great time of year for a pop of color, and red always pops. I’ll be sharing a great giveaway with you from indie twenty jewelry tomorrow!  This red bracelet inspired me to try some red lipstick- I am almost never brave enough to wear red lips in daytime. But look at me go. Who knows? I may try rollerblading next. Wait- I manage to fall in flats.

Mustard, ketchup, my outfit in condiment colors

I don’t wear this many bright colors together often enough… and when I put this on the first thing that came to mind was that I am wearing the perfect colors to serve hotdogs. I don’t actually eat hotdogs…except that time when I was pregnant and it sounded really good. Alas, sounded is the operative word in the sentence. At least I only ate a kosher one. But I digress. Perhaps it’s the big appetite I have since I am nursing a baby, but I even think of the purse in terms of food. Doesn’t it look like a fancy cupcake? No? Speaking of cupcakes, I have some planned. See? I am hungry a lot.

PS- which spelling do you use? Ketchup or catsup?

Dress, Old Navy/ Tights, Target
Jacket, Mizrahi (thrifted!)
Necklace, etsy/ Purse, vintage
Booties, Zappos

On the bright side, I have this plaid trapeze coat to wear

I am all about having a streamlined, organized closet, especially in the new year. I try to be strict about what I can keep and what is too much of a good thing. But when your weight is fluctuating as much as mine has the past couple of months, it’s helpful to be somewhat of a packrat. Did I need to keep this little plaid coat when I have so many vintage coats and not much cold weather? Well, no.  But it does make me smile when I wear it lately because it’s cheery, bright, and covers the bump completely.

By all means, weed that closet. But think carefully about pieces that tug your heartstrings… a piece you part with just might make a hard week a little brighter.
