a new year, new creative endeavors in the works, and starting off saying thank you…

Rather than list all of the things I would like to accomplish this year I will share just one, and let you know I’d like to start the year off thanking you for reading the blog! One of my goals is to reconnect with my creative side. I used to have time to paint, draw, make jewelry… now I have a small tornado in my house.  I would love to get back into the swing of crafting and creating in 2013.

The little lemondrop and I found some acorns while we were playing in the yard last month and I knew that I could dream up something to do with them when the weather outside turned frightful.  Luckily, making these acorn charms can be done with his help! I get to have some creative time that I need and still entertain the little man. He did drop a huge box of beads on the floor yesterday, but other than that our little acorn workshop is running smoothly.

I’ll be adding some more to the shop on etsy soon, and I’d love to give one away to a reader or two to celebrate their little launch. In fact, I have great giveaways lined up all month to welcome 2013, so stay in touch!

Happy New Year and happy creating to you too~

Considered to be an emblem of luck, prosperity, youthfulness and power, the acorn is a good luck symbol indeed!

It also represents spiritual growth.

I have acorns planned in lots of colors and styles… would love to hear about the ones you’d like most.

I love the brown colored acorn itself because they are how it’s by nature. SO it looks very beautiful!.. I love them… But the colored ones are no very appealing, particularly the pink one as it’s so unnatural…
