A Darling giveaway by Dana’s Darling Design (ends 09/29 )

Another etsy shop to fall in love with friends! So much sweetness you’ll think you’ve had some candy. Meet Dana of Dana’s Darling Design and her lovely Designs…and enter a giveaway! 1. What gives you daily inspiration to create your sweet pieces? The one thing that gives me daily inspiration are babies! May sound odd but, most of my items are for babies at the moment. And knowing some precious little bundle of joy is going to wear one of my props makes me smile to no end! And I it’s the best feeling when I get emailed a photo and someone is telling me how special the prop was and how it made their photo shoot just perfect. That’s a lot of my daily inspiration. Keeping focus on making people happy. c2. How do you relax other than the creative process you engage in to make these lovely items to sell? Relax? What’s that word haha! Well I currently work from home and 2 little girls and another baby on the way! Due really soon. So I stay so busy through the week with kiddos, housework, hubby and of course my work. When its work time for me part of my relaxation is just sitting getting to sprawl on the couch with my feet kicked up and watch tv. Everyone is always in Awe because I can crochet like lightning all the while watching tv and talking! And not skip that stitch.

3. What pieces have made you most proud and why? Okay, well believe it or not, my Daddy is the one who taught me how to crochet! And one of the first things he taught me how to make was a circle. Sounds simple enough, right? Wrong! When I was little and just learning around the age of 10-11 or so, that circle kicked my butt every time. Daddy would sit with me and show me over and over how to get it to lay flat. But every time my circle would curl up into a bowl or be all wavy and out of control. So when the day did come that I finally mastered my circle and it was flat..I was most proud of that. I know its not really a project but I was over the moon!! Aside from that I will truly say that each project I work on and complete I’m so very proud of. Being able to stay home with my precious children and do one of the things that I love most is something to be proud of. I love it all! 4. What advice do you have to give to other creative women who haven’t started their own shops but might want to in the future? My advice to sit down and put some thought into what you sort of feel or vibe you want your store to have. Who will be your target buyers? And what sort of items are you going to sell. It all may seem overwhelming. But if you take the time to put some thought into everything it won’t be so hectic. Make sure you have a nice selection of items before opening your shop and always remember that your customers are your friends and you want nothing more then to make them happy. But all in all having an Etsy shop is a lot of fun. So, don’t stress and enjoy it! 5. Where do you see your shop in three years from now? Call me crazy but I have high hopes for my shop in 3 years from now. I want it to be one of the most successful shops that offer handmade items. I want my shop to include a wide range of something for everyone. Something for women, children and teens. I want something that will suit everyone. A taste and style for all. Things that make people look stylish or cute. I want to have something for all seasons as well. And I really hope in the near future I can expand my shop to include my sewn dresses, boutique hairbows and embroidery. a Rafflecopter giveaway
